Other Information

Through extensive discussions with the Quest for Gold Committee and all relevant stakeholders, a more comprehensive strategy for Ontario athlete support and development was established as the most valuable investment of funds. The resulting MHTSCI plan and suggested allocation of 2021-22 Q4G funds is outlined below:

1) Support high performance programming for athletes in the Train to Compete stage & above  (i)

2) Access to sport science and sport medicine support  (ii)

3) Card (direct funding) Senior National level athletes not carded by Sport Canada. (iii)

4) Card (direct funding) Cadet & Junior National level athletes not carded by Sport Canada. (iv)


(i)  Support for National and International provincially led events.

(ii)  Sport Science / Sport medicine administered by The Canadian Institute of Sport. This would include access to service providers in Strength & Conditioning, Physiotherapy & Nutrition.

 
To be eligible for direct funding, athletes will be required to meet one of the following criteria & complete the online funding registration no later than by the end of business day April 29th, 2022.


(iii) Full-time U18, U21 or Senior athlete training at National Training Centre, Montreal - Not carded by Sport Canada.

The carded athlete funding will be distributed no later than May 31st, 2022.

If any athlete wishes to receive their funding via direct deposit, they must upload a copy of. void cheque to their online registration, otherwise their funding will be issued by mailed cheque.
